Where I Stand On The
Issues
Focused on the issues that matter to Battle Creek
-
Safe, Affordable, Accessible Housing
Every resident deserves a safe, stable home they can afford, in the neighborhood they’ve helped build. I’ll support policies that expand affordable housing, protect renters and longtime residents from displacement, and invest in repairing and preserving existing homes so families can stay rooted and communities can thrive.
-
Walkable, Vibrant Neighborhoods
Our neighborhoods should be safe, welcoming, and full of pride. They should be places where people want to put down roots, raise a family, and build a future. I’ll fight for real investment in the parts of our city that have been overlooked for too long, with stronger public spaces, better lighting, cleaner streets, and more support for the kinds of improvements that make neighborhoods feel cared for and connected.
-
Living‑wage Jobs and Small‑Business Growth
Battle Creek should be a place where people can build a good life, not just get by. I know firsthand what it takes to keep a small business moving, and I’ll fight for an economy that supports local entrepreneurs, creates good-paying jobs, and opens real career paths for working people.
-
Inclusive, Responsive City Government
City Hall should lead by listening, not by telling people what they need after the fact. I’ll show up in our neighborhoods, strengthen Neighborhood Planning Councils, and champion tools like participatory budgeting so residents have a real voice in how public dollars are spent. City Hall should be accountable to the people it serves, not the other way around.
